Both subclasses are permanent resident visas for elderly parent(s) of eligible children. The difference is processing time and cost. An 864 visa takes less time to process but costs a lot more, while an aged parent residence visa subclass 804 takes more time to process but costs significantly less.
The old age parent visa 804 is intended for elderly parents overseas who may reunite with their eligible sponsoring children in Australia. However, the top cons include long processing times, requirements such as the balance-of-family test and age limit of 67.
The subclass 143 visa is a “contributory” visa that’s way more expensive than a subclass 804 aged parent visa. However, the former takes much less time to process. The 804 aged parent visa takes much longer to process and finalise, though it costs a lot less.
