What Are Employer Sponsored Visas in Australia?

Employer-sponsored visas in Australia allow migrant workers to live and work in Australia for an indefinite period of time. It could be for a temporary work visa that would later become a permanent residence visa if they qualify. The main feature of this visa is that eligible skilled workers must be sponsored by approved Australian employers.

Employer Sponsored Visas Options to Australia

Here are your top options for your future employment in Australia once your visa is granted:

The Global Talent Employer Sponsored (GTES) program is designed for Australian employers to sponsor overseas workers for highly-skilled, niche positions that cannot be filled by skilled Australian workers or through other standard visa programs (e.g. the TSS visa’s Short-term and Medium-term streams).

For Employers: demonstrate their inability to fill these positions locally before entering into an agreement

For Workers: must be a globally mobile, specialised individual who can contribute considerably to Australian businesses and act as a ‘job multiplier’ by creating new jobs and transferring skills and knowledge to Australian workers

Moreover, it has two main streams, namely Startup and Established business streams.

    • Allows accredited sponsors to employ workers with advanced skills to drive innovation and enhance the capabilities of Australian businesses and their staff.
