The Nominated Skilled Visa under Subclass 190 is a points-based visa that allows eligible skilled workers to obtain a permanent resident status if they are nominated by an Australian state or territory government.
With this visa they can live, work, and study anywhere in the country, sponsor eligible family members and relatives for permanent residency, and later apply to become an Australian citizen once eligible.

You should lodge your visa application online within 60 days after receiving an invitation. Do not forget to submit all the necessary and correct documents.

190 visa processing times currently take about 12 to 18 months. You can check the status of your visa application via your ImmiAccount. You will receive a visa decision in writing.
An invitation round is a systematic approach that the Australian Government implements to carefully select migrant workers who will contribute to the country’s skilled workforce and address labour shortages nationwide.
Invitation rounds happen all year round. The nominating authorities do not publicly announce dates as to when they will assess, select, and approve applications. This also means you can submit your EOI anytime within the financial year and not worry about it affecting your chances of being approved or refused a 190 visa.
In addition, careful selection of candidates who submitted their EOIs to be nominated involves an assessment of their English language proficiency and skilled occupation experience.
